Section 4: Effective Lecture Techniques
Section 4 discusses effective lecture techniques that instructors of adult learners can use in the college classroom. Though lecture should not be the dominating teaching methodology for the adult learner, it is an effective delivery method for specific types of content. Section 4 presents strategies for planning, delivering, and following up on the dynamic and effective lectures that are appropriate for the adult learner.

Section 5: Effective Discussion Techniques
Section 5 reviews effective discussion techniques, focusing on facilitating discussion and avoiding barriers to participation. It emphasizes the educational benefits of discussion in the learning process and provides practical strategies and activity suggestions for encouraging and improving discussion in the classroom of adult learners.
